Ann Mattingly is the Director of Programs where she utilizes a collaborative spirit and supportive leadership style for staff in the program areas of Community Forestry, Education, Public Landscapes, and Urban Agriculture. She worked previously (2005-2011) at DCH as the Urban Agriculture Manager where she facilitated the development of Wilmington’s first urban farm, developed a successful horticulture program in Delaware’s only women’s prison, and was a founding member of the Delaware Urban Farm and Food Coalition. Ann has been a professional in the horticulture industry for nearly 20 years, with other roles including Garden Manager at Yew Dell Botanical Gardens and Assistant Curator at Longwood Gardens. She grew up  on a subsistence farm in rural Maine where her passion for community, food, and the natural environment became deeply engrained. She draws on this passion in her daily work for the diverse communities in Delaware served by DCH.
