As DCH's Director of Education, Helen leads the evaluation of current programs and the development of future educational programming. Previously, she served as the Director of Education & Organizational Development at the Delaware Nature Society (DNS) where she oversaw the organization's education programming plus the safety of over 100,000 guests a year across four locations and six preserves. Each year, she coordinated the National Professional Leadership Institute, which is co-sponsored by the Association of Nature Center Administrators (ANCA). Helen has been selected for seven national peer consults by ANCA and the Museum Assessment Program. She also serves on community advisory boards for the Delaware Environmental Institute and Delaware's EPSCoR Research Infrastructure Improvement Program and, in 2015, coauthored the state of Delaware's Environmental Literacy plan. Helen holds a B.S. in Elementary Education from University of Delaware and a M.S. in Education with a concentration in Gifted and Talented Students from Widener University. She is also a current member of ANCA and a lifetime member of the Delaware Teachers of Science and Chesapeake Bay Girl Scout Council, among others.
