Learning from Great Gardens: A Collectors’ Garden (Swarthmore, PA)

A labour of love 40 years in the making reflects this gardener’s interest in flowering plants, organic landscaping, and year-round enjoyment. Mature trees of Magnolia and cherry compliment an extensive collection of Hydrangea and Camellia. Flowering quince, Chaenomeles, and numerous Rhododendron add to the beauty and overall design. The garden with outdoor rooms is intended to allow family secluded spaces to adore vibrant blooms, read a book, enjoy a meal, or gather around the fire pit. All the woody plants on site are marked with metal plant tags for easy identification.
