We like to set ambitious goals for ourselves. That’s why in 2010 we announced our new campaign to plant 20,000 new trees within the City of Wilmington by 2020. Informed by the findings of our Urban Forest Report we are hoping to work with all levels, from individual residents to state organizations, to plant beautiful, healthy, and sustaining trees. The benefits of trees are hard to ignore; from reducing your utility bills to cleaning our air, trees are functional additions to any neighborhood.

If you are interested in learning more about how you can participate in making our goal a reality contact Annie Acton, Programs Administrative Assistant. She can tell you how to request a free tree or purchase an inexpensive bare root tree from our annual sale. If you don’t have room for a tree but still want to help, find out about our tree planting volunteering opportunities by contacting Marcia Stephenson, Special Events Coordinator.
