Emily combines her passion for education and horticulture serving as the education coordinator at The DCH. Emily focuses on exposing gardeners of all ages to the wonders of the natural world.  She also believes that gardens provide a perfect environment for children to develop an appreciation and interest in the world around them.  At TheDCH, Emily coordinates workshops, lectures, garden tours and trips.  Emily holds a Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Horticulture from Southern Illinois University and a Master’s degree in Public Horticulture from University of Tennessee.

Fun Fact:  Growing up on a grain farm in central Illinois, Emily developed her green thumb at an early age - as a toddler, she was already digging in the soil and "helping" in the garden. Her green thumb has stuck ever since!
