50 Volunteers Needed To Build Raised Gardening Beds

TheDCH needs your help building raised beds at a new community garden in New Castle Delaware. This event is in partnership with the New Castle County Police Department.
Volunteers will:
- Lay out and cut liners
- Screw cypress timber together
- Fill raised beds with compost and topsoil
- Help start a new community garden
- Learn how to build raised beds for your own garden
- Make new friends
- Get some fresh air and exercise
- Have refreshments
When: Saturday, April 23rd, 2011, 10 am to 2 pm
Where: Simmonds Gardens at 300 Sheridan Drive, New Castle, Delaware 19720. Near Rosehill Community Center off of Rt. 9
Details: This is a rain or shine event. Please dress for the weather and expect to get dirty. If you have your own gloves and shovel, bring them. We will have additional tools available. Please mark your equipment with your name. Training will take place on site the day of.
